Message from the Committee Chair

"The Economic Development Committee serves as a liaison to the community and a catalyst for developing new enterprise in San Diego North. I am honored to chair this committee and invite any prospective committee member to sit in on one of our meetings and see how they can get involved. No matter the industry, Economic Development is a necessity and all input is welcomed."

The Economic Development Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at the new San Diego North Chamber office, 10875 Rancho Bernardo Road Suite 104 San Diego, CA 92127.

About the Committee


The San Diego North Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to ensuring a sustainable business climate in San Diego North. Through the Economic Development Committee, the Chamber is able to stay at the forefront of business development in the region.

The goal of the Economic Development Committee is to attract business of all sizes to San Diego North to maintain a progressive and innovative business climate. Support of small businesses, fortune 500 corporations, and every level in between makes the Economic Development Committee and the San Diego North Chamber a viable resource to business already in the area and business looking of coming to the area.

Three main areas of focus:

  • Business Development - To identify and promote policies and programs that allow companies to invest in the region either through retention or expansion
  • Workforce Development – Provide a regional workforce that is capable and competent through collaboration with business and education.
  • Infrastructure – Develop and implement strategies to ensure regional capacity in six business critical categories: water, housing, energy, transportation, economic competitiveness and environmental stewardship.
