About the Committee
Health is a priority for the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce as it plays an important role in shaping the region’s economy. The San Diego North Chamber of Commerce strives to deliver up-to-date, health related information to enhance the quality of life of Chamber members and the business community at large. The Health Committee serves as the Chamber's front line to educate San Diego North businesses about health care issues specific to the region that impact bottom lines and workforce productivity.
The Health Committee has three key initiatives. The first is to serve as a source of information for the business community on healthcare issues. The committee hosts several events designed to raise awareness of the importance of health in the workplace and changes in healthcare options and regulations. In these workshops, businessmen and women can hear directly from hospital executives, industry experts, and wellness professionals. The committee also maintains a WORKplace WELLness site, dedicated to sharing low-cost and no-cost ideas that employers can use to boost the health of their employees. Lastly, the committee examines pertinent health legislation and relays its impact to the business community.
